As Visakhapatnam Port is essentially a bulk cargo port, the company has been handling a fair share of all cargoes i.e., DAP, MOP, UREA, COKE, SULPHUR, Manganese Ore, Silico Manganese, Rice, Timber logs, C.T.Pitch, Cement, Rock Phosphate, Industrial Salt, Refractory Raw Material, Steel Cargoes, Blast Furnace slag  etc.   Over the years a few million tons of bulk cargoes have been handled and we posses rich handling experience in this field.

 
     
  Over the past five years we have handled over 1.00 Million Metric Tons of Fertilizers and other cargoes in our warehousing complex.  
     
  For the first time at the port of Visakhapatnam we had used a Floating Crane and Lash Barges in the outer harbour to lighten fertilizers from an over draft vessel.  The work was executed by our company for M/s.Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilisers Ltd.  
     
  Over the years we have handled, Steel Plates, Steel Slabs, Structurals land other cargoes for M/s.Steel Authority of India Ltd  
     
  During the past five years we have handled over One Million M.T. of Fertilisers in our Warehousing Complex for M/s.Nagarjuna Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd., M/s.Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilisers Ltd., M/s.Godavari Fertilisers & Chemicals Limited, M/s.Paradeep Phosphates Ltd., M/s.KRIBHCO and other companies.  
     
  For the first time the export of the company handled two new cargoes of the port and the country.  They are Blast Furnace Slag of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and Copper Slag of Hindustan Copper Ltd.  Over 1,20,000 MT of these cargoes were shipped effectively and thus opening new markets for the Country.  
     
  The required infrastructure to handle these volumes efficiently was acquired by the Company due the following factors  
 
  • We have the largest Warehousing Complex with storage space measuring 3,00,000 sq. feet in close proximity, about 3 km from the Docks
  • A fully electronic 50 MT Weigh Bridge is operational in our warehousing complex. The company also owns fleet of Dumpers, Front-end Loaders, Poclains, Ex-200 to facilitate cargo handling operations.
  • These Godowns are mainly used for the purpose of handling Bulk Fertilisers that require covered accommodation and such cargo that require additional operations like bagging etc.   
  • Mechanized fertilizer bagging plant facility.
  • Port Railway Siding L-15 adjacent to our Warehousing complex to facilitate expediting rake loading operations in minimum possible lead-time.
 
  The company is thus self-sufficient in meeting the total needs of any discerning client.  
     
  Our Departmental Objectives:  
 

To ensure that the cargo is cleared from the Warf/ port premises to the storage points/ receivers with minimizing transit spillage’s during intercarting from docks to storage points.

To ensure that the cargo received is stored/ stacked/ bagged as per product specified handling procedures (Material Safety Data Sheet).

To ensure that the cargo stored/stacked in storage points is protected from contamination and adverse weather/ environmental conditions to maintain product quality.

To ensure that the cargo is dispatched/ transported to the receivers in the quickest and safest possible manner.
